Ep 13 - Leadership Archetypes
There are two archetypes of leaders- The Creator and The Executor.
Understanding the difference between them and how they both support each other is key! This is how you build strong and cohesive teams where your colleagues thrive and reduce turnover.
Each single one of us has different strengths and areas of interest. This makes us each unique and allows for immense reward and growth through collaboration. The caveat is we need to make sure we are in the right roles with responsibilities that are aligned with said strengths and areas of interest.
I’ve seen it many times over, individuals placed in the wrong positions and it creates a pretty big block and disruption. This has happened to me time and time again so I can make multiple case studies based on my own experience. What I learnt from my research was when we put individuals in the right positions that they are ready and equipped to do, they thrive, so does the business, and the company culture is magnetic. When we place someone in the incorrect position because we think they will be great at it versus truly listening to them and discovering what their superpowers are, this hurts the person’s confidence, the team dynamics, productivity and the culture of the business. It usually ends up resulting in separation and higher turnover.
